There are multiple different ways of ranking a city’s desirability, and apparently Colorado Springs passes all the tests with flying colors. Our city was just ranked the 2nd best place to live in U.S.! According to an article about the city’s ranking on U. S. News and World Reports, we’ve actually ranked 2nd most desirable for the last two years running, but this year we finally climbed from 11th best place to 2nd! (Most desirable and best place to live are separate rankings.)
The “most desirable” ranking is apparently calculated from where people would choose to live when presented with the 100 largest metropolitan areas in the U.S. The “best place to live” ranking is based on quality of life and current job market. To quote the article directly, “‘This ranking reflects what residents have known for a long time, which is that Colorado Springs is a wonderful place to live,’ said Mayor John Suthers…” (Link to the remainder of the article here.)
We love Colorado Springs – not only would we pick it out of a list of cities, but we love the fresh air and easy access to the outdoors that contribute so highly to the quality of life we enjoy. So if you haven’t booked your vacation to come visit us in CoS, you should!
